OUR COMMUNITY CLEANUP INITIATIVE
More Than Water. It’s Home. The Long Island Sound connects two states and millions of lives. Different towns. Different stories. Same shore. BRAKISH was created to represent this place — and protect it.
This is where One Shore. One Story. becomes action.
WHY WE DO THIS
BRAKISH comes from brackish water - where fresh and salt meet. The Long Island Sound is one massive estuary, two worlds blending into one. That mix is what makes this place special. It’s what makes the people who live here who they are. LIGHTLY SALTED isn’t just how the water tastes. It’s how we live.
BEACH BUCKET STATIONS
Beach Bucket Stations are community-built stands placed along the shore to help keep our beaches clean. They give everyday people the tools to care for the place that shaped them. Small actions. Shared responsibility. Real impact.
CURRENT LOCATIONS
NIANTIC BAY BEACH
HOLE IN THE WALL BEACH
McCOOK BEACH
BUILD YOUR OWN
We’re sharing our beach bucket station blueprints because we’d love to see these stations all up and down the coast. Cleaner waters mean a better life for all of us — and a lightly salted lifestyle we can feel good about. Click below for the blueprints
